Family, Faith, and Service: The Story of James Calkins
James Calkins is first and foremost a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Mariya, for fourteen years, and together they are raising their two beautiful daughters, Lily and Bella, in Miramar Beach.
James and Mariya’s story began in 2011, when they met while James was running his small business on the beautiful shores of the Gulf of America. From the very beginning, James knew he had met the woman he would marry. After just seven days, he proposed. Six months later, they were married, beginning a life built on faith, commitment, and shared purpose.
Today, their family is deeply rooted in the community. They are active members of Destiny Worship Center and are committed to serving both their church and their county. James and Mariya were elected as Committeeman and Committeewoman of the Walton County Republican Executive Committee, and Mariya also serves on the board.
Faith, family, and service remain at the center of James’s life. Whether at home with Lily and Bella or working in the community, his commitment to those he loves and the place he calls home continues to guide everything he does.
